Special Appeal
This final newsletter of 2023 is focused on ultrasound, the statistics of abortion, and the struggle women experience navigating the waters of an unexpected pregnancy. It is clearly a battle, but it is a battle worth fighting. All that we strive to accomplish is worth it when a woman chooses life.
As the recipient of our newsletter, you are a vital – and appreciated – part of our ministry. Without your support, our ministry would suffer and the clients we strive to assist would be adversely impacted. As 2023 comes to a close, you can assist those women struggling, not knowing which path to choose.
Even though our current ultrasound machine was purchased in 2016 when Options for Women/River Falls opened its doors, the unavailability of replacement parts and service issues have rendered it obsolete. Our machine is still functional but is almost 7 years old, and the average life expectancy of an ultrasound machine such as ours is 6-7 years of age. Subsequently, our ultrasound machine needs replacing.
This past month the Options for Women/River Falls Board of Directors approved an initiative to begin fundraising for a new ultrasound machine. This fund-raising effort will take place in conjunction with the Knights of Columbus, both St. Bridget’s Local Council #4902 and the Knights of Columbus Wisconsin Supreme Council.
Our goal is to raise $8,000. Any funds raised beyond our share of the total expense will remain in a designated ultrasound account for future use as a replacement will surely be needed in another 6-7 years.
To assist us in continuing to allow our clients to actually visualize the life within them, I ask that you consider donating to our fund drive. Any and all donations are greatly appreciated.

End-of-Year Request
As our fiscal year ends and the Christmas season is upon us, it is time to say THANK YOU and to remind all of our wonderful donors how appreciative we are of the support Options for Women/River Falls receives. The women we assist are impacted by your generosity and kindness in so many ways. The smiles that emanate from them are enriching and heart-warming. They solidify our mission and reinforce our desire to serve each and every day.
